About

My name is Van Broderick, and I am running for Utah Senate District 21. I’m a proud Utah Valley native, born and raised in Orem, where I grew up with a loving family of nine children. My parents instilled in us the values of faith, love of neighbor, family, patriotism, and hard work. My first paying job, as a 12-year-old, was picking fruit in the cherry orchards of Orem.

I went on to earn my Eagle Scout award, graduate from Orem High School, and serve a two-year mission. At Brigham Young University, I met my wonderful wife, Sarah, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology, where I was honored as the outstanding student in my department. After graduation, Sarah and I settled in Lindon, where we’ve lived for the past 35 years. We’re blessed with three children and eleven grandchildren.

As a general contractor and small business owner, I understand what it takes to turn an idea into a successful venture. Our business employs over 40 people, and my wonderful partners and I have navigated the challenges of building a thriving enterprise.

My involvement in politics started in 1998 when I attended my first neighborhood caucus meeting and was elected as a county delegate. Two years later, I became precinct chair and have proudly served in that role for the past 24 years. I strongly support the caucus and delegate system, believing it’s the best way to nominate candidates who truly represent our values. I am absolutely in favor of getting rid of SB54 and the signature gathering process to gain access to the primary ballot. In 2013, I was elected to the Lindon City Council, where I’ve served for 11 years. My commitment is to support and defend our divinely inspired Constitution. I am politically and fiscally conservative, believing in balanced budgets, saving for the future, paying off debt, and responsible planning for needed projects.

During this campaign, I’ve been asked, “Who are you running against?” My answer is simple: I’m not running against anyone. I’m running for the people of Senate District 21.

With my background in business, my service in the Republican Party, and my extensive experience on the city council, I am confident in my ability to serve as your next Utah Senator for District 21.

My name is Van Broderick, and I ask for your vote.
Thank you.
